Racking Inspections

Damaged or unsafe racking presents a significant risk to human life, products, and equipment.

There are also unsafe practices, which occur, including unsafe loading and unloading procedures, employees climbing racking, poor, or non-existent damage reporting procedures.

Failure in any of these areas can have an enormous impact on a warehousing operation, not only for the reasons stated above but, bad publicity, potential loss of clients, and ultimately penalties including heavy fines and possible imprisonment.

For example, if your storage system fails or an employee accident causes damage to products because they aren’t properly stored, they could prove expensive to replace.  This is a notable risk for small businesses, which tend to work with much lower budgets, leaving little to no room for error.

By the same token, if damage to products means that you have to delay or cancel orders, it will have a negative impact on your company’s reputation. In the business world, and especially for local businesses, reputation is everything.  If customers lose faith in your brand, they won’t hesitate to purchase what they need from your rivals.

By ensuring you operate your equipment in the safest possible manner you will have peace of mind you are minimising this risk and addressing your corporate obligation.
