Building & Construction

Accidents on building sites unfortunately happen quite regularly with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) commiting a significant amount of their resources to this industry.

HSE frequently conduct targeted inspections of construction sites usually focusing on specific topic areas, such as Silica dust, Respitarory Protection, Slips Trips and Falls, Skin Protection etc.

Clearly when inspectors visit they will also be looking for evidence of workers knowing the risks, planning their work and using correct and suitable control measures, not only in relation to the current initiative but also anything else which they may observe whilst on site.

Due to both legislative and insurance requirements, contractors are having to be more stringent in selecting their sub-contractors with a large focus being on their health and safety record at work and the competency levels of their workers.

At CPSM we specialise in helping small and medium-sized enterprises win contracts.  They employ us to help them with the following:

  • Creating management processes

  • Producing the required documentation to maintain compliance.

  • Establishing a positive culture and attitude towards health and safety within their business.

  • Ensure that safety becomes the 'norm' and not just a box ticking exercise.
