In manufacturing over the past 5 years, each year an average of 22 workers died in workplace accidents. There was also an average of more than 3,100 reports of major injuries and about 4,100 reports of injuries that kept workers away from work for seven days or more.
​
Many manufacturing workers also suffer ill health from workplace exposures. It is estimated that each year an average of 33,000 workers suffer from illness caused or made worse by their current or most recent job in manufacturing (source: Labour Force Survey)

Because of this the HSE sees the manufacturing industry as a high risk environment to work in and regularly inspect businesses to ensure that they are compliant.

We Understand
​
At CPSM we understand that getting a grasp of being and staying compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 (HSAWA74) is difficult. We also understand that resources are stretched and taking an employee away from their 'usual duties' can sometimes cause friction and in the end does not turn out to be cost effective.
