Catering

As you are probably aware If your business prepares or serves food, you must register it using either the food business registration service on GOV.UK, via your local authority website or by using the model application form. For more information on registering your business click here.

The Environmental Health Officer’s (EHO) from your local authority will then come to inspect your premises. Their purpose is to ensure the food your business produces is safe to eat.

What are they looking for?

  • How hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.

  • The condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, and pest control.

  • How the business manages and records what it does to make the food safe.

How We Will Help

  • Induction training

  • Food complaints procedures

  • HACCP monitoring

  • HACCP training

  • Fire risk assessments

  • Risk assessments

  • Safety audits

  • Hygiene audits

What we will do:

We specialise in helping catering businesses to comply with health and safety legislation, whether you are a take away, restaurant, outside caterer or large commercial food preparation/distributor

We understand that small business owners cannot afford a full time health & safety manager nor do they have the time to get involved in detailed legislative requirements themselves. Outsourcing your hygiene and health & safety function is the only cost effective way to stay within the law and benefit from good employee relations as well as reducing the risk of claims for accidents.

We appreciate how pressurised the catering industry is and are sympathetic to this aspect. In the first instance we will audit your premises and procedures to identify any areas that require attention.  We will draw up a workable action plan to meet any shortfalls identified and give guidance and support to enable these aspects to be met and maintained for the future, in a way that is as simple and cost effective as possible
